Jacqueline Bart: Canada Immigration Specialist

Background: Jacqueline R. Bart, Esq., B.A., LL.B., J.D., Barrister & Solicitor, is a Certified Immigration Specialist by the Law Society of Upper Canada. She obtained her undergraduate and law degrees in Canada and her Juris Doctor in the United States . She commenced her legal career at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt and has worked at Barristers Chambers in London , England and at the U.K. High Court of Justice. As well, Ms. Bart interned and worked at the United Nations in the area of International Human Rights and Immigration Law.

In December 1994, Ms. Bart founded the citizenship and immigration law firm Bart and Associates. Ms. Bart is in her sixteenth (16) year of practice exclusively in the area of citizenship and immigration law.

Areas of Practice: All Aspects of Citizenship and Immigration Law, exclusively.

Professional Experience: Ms. Bart is immigration counsel for a substantial number of multinational corporations and diplomatic offices in Canada . She also represents a number of law firms and/or their clients in relation to corporate relocation. Her knowledge of Canadian immigration law ranges from humanitarian issues to executive transfers and investor immigration.

Author of Law Books and Other Publications: Ms. Bart is the author of three immigration law books used by lawyers in Canada . She is the Editor-in-Chief and an author of "The Canadian/U.S. Relocation Manual: Immigration, Employment, Customs and Taxation Law, which is a quarterly updated relocation treatise involving both Canadian and U.S. law. She has also written two Canadian Immigration Practice Guide Texts, entitled "Work Permits,” and "Permanent Residence”. In addition to her books, Ms. Bart as written extensively, both academically and for presentation, papers and articles, for conferences, publications, magazines and newspapers.

Professional Activities: Ms. Bart is an elected member of the executive of the National Canadian Bar Association Immigration Section and is an Immigration Mentor at the Law Society of Upper Canada, Former Chair of the Ontario Bar Association, Immigration Section CBSA Port of Entry Subcommittee, and is also is a member in the following organizations: International Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Toronto Consular Corps, Honorary Consul of Ecuador, Ex officio, Member and Canadian Immigration Lawyer, International Network of Boutique Law Firms (INBLF), inter alia. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Bart has spoken at national and international immigration, business/corporate, family and human resources conferences on immigration legal issues, at the Canadian Bar Association, the Centre D'Etudes en Administration Internationale, the Law Society of Upper Canada, Center for International Law Studies, as well as privately organized seminars and Canadian public television. She is featured in Who’s Who of Professionals.

Charity and Community Service: In addition to her professional involvements, Ms. Bart serves on various not-for-profit corporation boards. She is the Vice-President of Friends of Ecuador Not-For-Profit Ontario Corporation, which is responsible for shipping hospital supplies, medical technology, ambulances, etc, to Ecuador . Through the Children’s Emergency Fund of Canada she supports an orphanage in Ecuador , in addition to aiding refugee children in Canada .

Law Society of Upper Canada Recognition as a Specialist in Immigration Law: Jacqueline Bart is a government authorized Canadian immigration representative, a Toronto immigration lawyer and Certified Immigration Specialist by the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is an approved client representative by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. She is a Canadian lawyer and a member of a Canadian Provincial Law Society, the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario). Ms. Bart’s qualifications substantially exceed the qualifications of the members of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC).
